Chargers Continue Winning Ways

The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team won its fourth and fifth straight matches on Saturday as the Chargers defeated St. Elizabeth, 3-0 in the morning and then waited all day to defeat Bryn Athyn, 3-1 on Saturday night. The victories improve the Chargers to 10-8 overall and 6-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play.

By the Numbers: The Chargers took advantage of 22 St. Elizabeth errors to record the three-set victory...Lancaster Bible had 23 kills to just 13 errors on 89 attempts...Sophomore Myranda Kemrer led the Chargers with seven kills and she also had 14 digs, two aces and two blocks...Alyssa Bowen and Emily Olson each had four kills, while Bowen added two blocks as well...Hannah Gipe led the Chargers with 15 digs and Hannah Derr had 11 assists.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible improved to 5-0 all-time against St. Elizabeth...The six total blocks (two solo, eight assist) are the most the Chargers have had in a single match this season...After having only 29 kills in their win on Friday night, the Chargers had 23 in their win on Saturday morning, the fewest in a win all season long.

By the Numbers: Kemrer led the Chargers in kills for the third time in three matches this weekend has she had 12 kills and a team-high 22 digs...Lauren Grimm added eight kills and seven digs, while Bowen, Olson and Gipe each had six kills...Hannah Derr had six aces, a new career-high and also chipped in with 19 digs...Derr also had 31 assists and with her 22nd assist of the evening, Derr eclipsed the 3,000-assist mark for her career...Already the program-leader in all-time assists, Derr now has 3,009 in her storied career...Lancaster Bible had 40 kills to Bryn Athyn's 24.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 10-2 all-time against Bryn Athyn...Lancaster Bible had two five-game winning streaks last season, the last coming from Oct. 17 to Oct. 25.
