For the fifth consecutive season, the Lancaster Bible women's soccer team advanced to the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs by virtue of the team's 8-3-1 conference record and for the second straight year, the Chargers will host a NEAC Quarterfinal contest. Lancaster Bible will face Keuka on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Charger Field with the winner earning a date with top-seeded Penn St. Berks in the NEAC Semifinals on Saturday in Reading, Pa. at 11:30 a.m.
The other NEAC Quarterfinal features 3rd seed SUNY Polytechnic hosting 6th seeded Penn College. The winner of that quarterfinal will advance to the NEAC Semifinals where 2nd-seeded Penn St. Abington awaits.
Lancaster Bible saw its chances of a NEAC title go up in smoke in last season's NEAC Quarterfinals as SUNY Polytechnic came to Lancaster and dispatched the Chargers, 2-1, just two weeks after Lancaster Bible thumped the Wildcats, 5-0. The Chargers are hoping history does not repeat itself this season as Lancaster Bible also won the regular season matchup with this season's quarterfinal opponent, Keuka. Lancaster Bible won in double overtime over the Wolfpack on Sept. 19 as
Kirsten Webster scored 1:03 into the second overtime to give the Chargers a 1-0 victory.
