The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team kicked off its spring schedule with a 9-0 loss to Eastern on Thursday afternoon in St. Davids, Pa. The Eagles improve to 2-3 with the win, while the Chargers fall to 0-2. Lancaster Bible lost, 9-0 to Baptist Bible in its lone match during the fall season.
On Thursday, only one of three doubles matches was close, as the number two doubles team from Lancaster Bible,
Kayla Weaser and
Malinda Roth, lost, 8-6 to Eastern's Angela Anthony and Leslie Henry.
Lancaster Bible number one singles player,
Morgan Adams, played well in her first collegiate match as she lost to Laura Thomas, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in three sets. Sophomore
Brianne Smith lost at number two singles, 6-3, 6-1, while Weaser lost at number three, 6-0, 6-3. Roth lost her number four singles match, 6-2, 6-1, while
Stephanie Blest, having just joined the team because of basketball ending a week ago, lost her number five singles match, 6-4, 6-3. Senior
Alicia Vossler lost her number six singles match, 6-0, 6-0.
Lancaster Bible returns to the court on Monday when they face Stevenson at 2 p.m. in Stevenson, Md.
