The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a pair of losses on Friday and Saturday as the Chargers lost to Wells, 8-1 on Friday at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Pa. and fell by the same score to Keuka on Saturday at Linden Hall School in Lititz. . The losses drop the Chargers to 0-6 overall this season. Lancaster Bible returns to the court on Sunday when the Chargers will wrap-up their weekend with another NEAC match, this one at Bryn Athyn. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.Â

Wells 8, Lancaster Bible 1The number two doubles team of
Kayla Weaser and
Stephanie Blest picked up the lone win for Lancaster Bible as they lost to Wells, 8-1. Weaser and Blest defeated Nicole Sanburn and Danielle Bautista, 8-5 in their number two doubles match. The Chargers' number one singles player, freshman
Morgan Adams, lost a tough match, 9-8 (7-1) to Wells number one, Taryn Heath.Â
Blest fought hard in her number four singles match, but ultimately lost to Bautista, 6-4, 6-1.Â
Keuka 8, Lancaster Bible 1Adams rebounded from her singles loss on Friday to pick up the lone point for the Chargers on Saturday by defeating Keuka's Shelby Morseman, 6-1, 7-5 at number one singles.
Brianne Smith fought valiantly as well, but came up just short at number two singles as she lost, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.
Malinda Roth lost in three sets as well as she lost to Amanda Murray, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. Weaser dropped a 7-5, 6-3 decision to Savannah Fuller at number three singles, while
Alicia Vossler lost to Katie Tracy, 6-0, 6-1 at number six singles.Â
