The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team notched its first win of the season on Sunday as the Chargers defeated Bryn Athyn, 9-0 in Bryn Athyn, Pa. The win is not only the first overall win of the season for the Chargers, but is their first North Eastern Athletic Conference victory of the season as well.Â
Lancaster Bible got off to a fantastic start on Sunday as all three doubles teams won easily, led by the number two doubles team of
Kayla Weaser and
Stephanie Blest who won, 8-0. The number one doubles team of
Morgan Adams and
Brianne Smith added an 8-1 victory and the number three doubles team of
Malinda Roth and
Alicia Vossler won their first match of the season with an 8-3 decision over Bryn Athyn's Kelsey Kowalick and Catherine Kirk.Â
Adams and Smith each won their singles matches, 6-1, 6-1, while Weaser won her number three singles match, 6-1, 6-2. Blest won her number four singles match, 6-1, 6-1 and Roth won her match, 6-0, 6-0 at number five singles. Vossler picked up her first collegiate win on Sunday as she won her number six singles match, 6-0, 6-2 over Alexus Kolb.Â
Lancaster Bible returns to the court on Tuesday when the Chargers host Penn St. Abington at 3:30 p.m. The match will be held at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa.
