The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team cracked the win column for the second time this season as the Chargers defeated St. Elizabeth, 6-0 on Thursday in Morristown, N.J. The score is different than most due to the number three doubles match, as well as the number five and six singles matches, not being played due to the teams missing players due to injury.Â
The victory improves the Chargers to 2-8 overall this season and 2-4 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The Eagles fall to 0-7 overall and 0-7 in conference play.Â
Lancaster Bible didn't drop a point in either of the doubles matches as the number one doubles team of
Morgan Adams and
Brianne Smith won, 8-0, as did the number two doubles team of
Stephanie Blest and
Malinda Roth.Â
Singles play featured much of the same as Adams cruised at number one singles, 6-1, 6-0, while Smith won the same score at her number two singles match. Blest won, 6-1, 6-1 over St. Elizabeth's Johanna Hernandez at number three singles and
Malinda Roth, playing at number four singles for the first time all season, won her match, 6-1, 6-0.
The Chargers will play for the fourth time in four days on Friday as they will wrap-up their regular season with a 1 p.m. match at Penn College in Williamsport, Pa.
