The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team swept its North Eastern Athletic Conference Weekend on Friday and Saturday as the Chargers defeated Bryn Athyn Friday night and St. Elizabeth and Penn St. Abington on Saturday. The victories are huge for the Chargers as they push toward the NEAC Playoffs. Recaps of each match are below.
Lancaster Bible 3, Bryn Athn 0
25-6, 25-9, 25-14
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible was in control from the opening serve as the Chargers jumped out to big leads in each of the three sets. In the opener, the Chargers took a commanding 12-1 lead thanks to five service aces, before cruising to a 25-6 victory.Â
The second set featured much of the same as Lancaster Bible won 14 of 15 points at one time in the set to take an 18-4 advantage. Back-to-back kills from
Lauren Grimm closed the set as the Chargers won, 25-9.Â
In the third set, Lancaster Bible led 13-2 and 17-7 before a late Bryn Athyn run closed the gap, though the Chargers still won, 25-14.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 44 kills, while Bryn Athyn had nine...The Chargers committed just 12 errors during the match, including two in the second set...Lancaster Bible also had more digs than Bryn Athyn, 52-39...

Lauren Grimm each had nine kills to pace the Chargers...

How it Happened: St. Elizabeth jumped out to an early lead after surprising the Chargers in the first set, but Lancaster Bible came back to win the next three sets and take the match. In the third set, Lancaster Bible opened a late lead after taking eight of nine points to increase its lead to 22-13.Â
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible led in kills, 39-33, while each team had 44 digs...Lancaster Bible had 15 aces...
Alyssa Bowen led all players with 12 kills, while
Allison Shuey had 32 assists...
Hannah Gipe had eight kills and nine digs.
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible improved to 6-0 all-time against St. Elizabeth.
Lancaster Bible 3, Penn St. Abington 1
21-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-19
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible once again dropped the first set, but roared back to win the second set, 26-24. Penn St. Abington was coming off a five-set victory over Penn St. Berks just prior to taking the court against the Chargers and Lancaster Bible used that to their advantage in the third and fourth sets as the Chargers won both and took the match.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 50 kills, while Penn St. Abington had 35...The Chargers also had more digs at 61-57...Bowen led the way again as she had 13 kills and eight blocks...
Ashtyn Bouslog added six kills and 13 digs, while Grimm had nine kills and 11 digs...Senior
Emily Olson chipped in with eight kills and three blocks.
