The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team had a terrific Tuesday at Horst Athletic Center as the Chargers swept past Cairn and Goucher by identical 3-0 scores. The victories improve the Chargers to 15-16 overall this season.

How it Happened: The Lancaster Bible reserves took center stage in the opening match as the Chargers used an atypical line-up to defeat the Highlanders in three sets. After winning the first set, 25-18, Lancaster Bible had 12 kills in both the second and third sets to sweep past Cairn.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had the edge in kills at 33-16...The Chargers had 33 digs and three team blocks...Lancaster Bible also had 11 aces, led by
Erin Harkey who had five of the aces to go along with her team-high seven kills...
Lauren Grimm also had seven kills and added three blocks as well...
Martina McCauley chipped in with six kills, while
Natalie Kennedy and
Tiffany Weiler each had a team-leading eight digs.
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 13-34 all-time against Cairn...The Chargers have won four straight matches over the Highlanders and have not lost to Cairn since 2013.

How it Happened: After taking the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-21, Lancaster Bible blew the third set open with a 7-0 run to turn a 6-4 lead into a 13-4 advantage. The Gophers hung tough and eventually closed the gap to 18-16, but five straight points from the Chargers helped Lancaster Bible regain a seven-point lead at 23-16. Back-to-back kills from
Ashtyn Bouslog sealed the match and Lancaster Bible climbed to within one game of the .500 mark.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 35 kills, while Goucher had 29...The Chargers also led in digs, 48-37...Junior
Alyssa Bowen led the Chargers with 10 kills...Senior
Emily Olson added eight kills and three blocks, while freshman
Allison Shuey had 31 assists and four blocks...Bouslog had eight kills and a team-high 13 digs...Junior
Myranda Kemrer also added double-digit digs with 10.
The Coach Says: "These matches were great for the entire team," Lancaster Bible Head Coach
Lauren Bewley said. "It seemed very evident today that everyone enjoyed playing together. I don't know how to describe it, it just seemed as though everyone was a part of these wins."
