The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team lost its opening home match of the season on Monday as the Chargers fell to Hood, 6-3 at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. The loss drops the Chargers to 1-2 this season, while Hood improved to 3-5.
Hood won two of the three doubles matches as Lancaster Bible picked up a point via a forfeit victory at number three doubles. An injury to Lancaster Bible number one singles player
Brianne Smith gave the Blazers a victory at the top spot, while Lancaster Bible picked up a forfeit victory at number six singles.Â
Kayla Weaser and
Stephanie Blest lost their singles matches at number two and number three respectively. Freshman
Hannah Zehall was victorious in her number four singles match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Meaghan Donahue.
Rachel Snyder dropped her first-ever collegiate tennis match at number five singles to round out singles play.
Lancaster Bible is back on the court on Wednesday when the Chargers travel to Williamsport, Pa. to face Lycoming at 3:30 p.m.
