The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team snapped a five-match losing streak on Thursday as the Chargers defeated Trinity (D.C.), 6-1 at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. The Chargers are now 3-9 this season as they defeated Trinity for the second time this year.
Lancaster Bible opened Thursday with two doubles wins as
Morgan Adams and
Stephanie Blest won at number one doubles, 8-6 and Â
Kayla Weaser and
Hannah Zehall won, 8-3 at number two doubles. Number three doubles, as well as number six singles were not contested due to each team playing the match with just five players.
In singles action, Adams won easily, 6-2, 6-0 at number one, while Weaser lost a back-and-forth match at number two. Weaser lost, 4-6, 6-0, 10-8, but was picked up by teammate
Stephanie Blest who won at number three singles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-4.
Zehall and
Rachel Snyder each won their match, 6-1, 6-0 as Zehall was victorious at number four singles and Snyder won at number five.
The Chargers will play their final regular season contest of the season on Saturday as the team heads to Bryn Athyn, Pa. to face North Eastern Athletic Conference foe Bryn Athyn. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m.
