The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team continued its up and down season on Saturday as the Chargers lost to Gallaudet, 75-65 in Washington, D.C. The loss drops the Chargers to 8-11 overall and 8-6 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while Gallaudet, the top team in the conference, improved to 17-4, 15-1 NEAC.
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible opened the game well as the Chargers hung with Gallaudet in the opening 10 minutes of the contest and took an 18-17 lead with 11:23 remaining as freshman

Javon Cole. The Bison showed why they are 9-2 on their home floor this season and used an 11-2 run over the next four minutes to grab a 28-20 lead.
Gallaudet eventually built its lead to 11 at 33-22, but the Chargers were able to buckle down defensively at the end of the first half and trailed just 35-26 at the break.
Lancaster Bible continued to play well defensively into the second half as the Chargers opened the half on an 11-5 run, climbing to within, 40-35 with 15:12 remaining after a 3-pointer from sophomore
Jason Kuntzelman. Over the next six minutes however, Lancaster Bible's offense sputtered and Gallaudet took full advantage as the Bison scored 17 of the game's next 20 points and took a 57-40 lead with under 10 minutes to play.
During the six-minute stretch, the Chargers missed six shots and turned the ball over six times as Gallaudet built an insurmountable lead. The Bison eventually led by as many as 20, but the Chargers did fight until the final whistle and cut their deficit to 10 late in the game.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 39.7 percent (23-of-58) from the floor, but just 8-of-28 from 3-point range...Gallaudet shot 57.4 percent (27-of-47) from the field and 7-of-17 from beyond the arc...Junior
Herbie Brown led four players in double figures with 13 points and also had six rebounds...
Austin Brown added 10 points, as did freshman
Brett Cataudella on 5-of-7 shooting...Beers finished with 10 points as well, to go with three assists and three steals...Kuntzelman had six points, seven assists and five boards...Joshua McGriff had 16 points to lead the Bison.

Zach Filzen said. "Gallaudet is a good team and we need to improve on some things to keep up with a team like that. There are things to clean up and we have to execute better against the zone and do a better job defensively."
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 6-8 all-time against Gallaudet...The Bison defeated the Chargers, 73-56 at Horst Athletic Center on Dec. 2, 2016...Lancaster Bible held a 33-29 rebounding edge on Saturday after the Bison pummeled the Chargers, 50-30 on the boards in the first matchup this season...The Chargers have scored in the 60's in four of their past five games.
