The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team lost its second straight match on Wednesday, but once again played well and had chances to turn the match in its favor, only to come up short. Lycoming defeated the Chargers, 6-3 on Wednesday at Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pa. The Chargers dropped to 0-2, while the Warriors are now 8-2.
The number one doubles team of
Greta Strunk and
Lynndath Thelemaque got the Chargers on the board as they won, 9-7. The other two doubles matches went the way of Lycoming and the Chargers trailed, 2-1 after doubles play.Â
Strunk and Thelemaque kept their strong play going in singles as well as the pair each won their singles match. Strunk won her number one singles match, 6-2, 6-1, while Thelemaque won at number two singles, 6-2, 6-2.Â
Senior
Stephanie Blest played well at number five singles, falling, 6-4, 7-5, while sophomore
Sarah Wetzel lost, 6-2, 7-5 at number six singles.
The Chargers return to the court on Friday when they host Trinity (D.C.) at 3:30 p.m. at Hempfield Rec Center.Â
