Box Score 2 The Lancaster Bible College baseball team continued its stretch of North Eastern Athletic Conference games on Friday as the Chargers took game one from Cazenovia, 10-1, before Mother Nature intervened in game two with the score tied at 2-2 in the ninth inning. Game two was suspended at the start of the ninth inning and will hopefully be made up during the final two weeks of the regular season. The victory in game one moves the Chargers to 14-8 overall and 4-3 in NEAC play, while Cazenovia drops to 3-14 overall and 2-3 in conference action.
How it Happened: In game one, Lancaster Bible scored in each of the first four innings and cruised past the Wildcats, 10-1. Sophomore
Jensen King opened the scoring in the first inning as his two-run, two-out single drove home senior
Justin Taylor and junior
Braden Elliott. Senior
Brian Niedergall extended the Chargers' lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second as he smashed his third home run of the season over the center field wall.
King and Niedergall were at it again in the third as each picked up another RBI on base hits. Taylor also added an RBI as he drew a bases loaded walk and Lancaster Bible led, 6-0 after three innings. Junior
Josh Mayer homered to lead off the fourth inning and freshman
Beau Heagy singled later in the inning, scoring sophomore
Adam Cohick to make it 8-0. Junior
JJ Sanchez capped the scoring for the Chargers later in the fourth as he doubled home two runs to make it 10-0.
While the Lancaster Bible bats took care of things in the bottom half of each inning, senior
Nate Burns was taking care of business in the top half, as he struck out nine over five innings and kept the Wildcats' bats at bay. Burns scattered five hits over his five innings and walked three en route to his fifth win of the season.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 6-7 all-time against Cazenovia...The five wins for Burns are a new single-season career high and he is just two wins away from tying the program record for wins in a season with seven that was set in 2010 by Lou Curcio.
