The Lancaster Bible College baseball team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday at Charger Field, but the celebrating didn't last long as SUNY Polytechnic swept a doubleheader from the Chargers, sending Lancaster Bible to its two worst North Eastern Athletic Conference defeats of the year. Lancaster Bible is now 14-10 overall and 4-5 in NEAC play, while SUNY Poly is 5-13 overall and 4-2 in conference action.Â
SUNY Poly 13, Lancaster Bible 5 -- Game 1
How it Happened: SUNY Poly scored the game's first 10 runs and never looked back as they downed Lancaster Bible, 13-5. After getting on the board with two runs in the first, the Wildcats exploded for six runs in the second, followed by two more in the top of the third, before the Chargers finally got on the board in the bottom half of the inning.Â
Sophomore
Jensen King hit an RBI double to make it 10-1 in favor of SUNY Poly, but the Wildcats scored two more times in the fourth to grab a 12-1 lead. Lancaster Bible senior
Brian Niedergall and junior
Josh Mayer added RBI hits in the fourth inning, as did sophomore
Adam Cohick in the sixth, but the Chargers couldn't mount a serious run and dropped game one.

Braden Elliott was 2-for-5, as he and Mayer combined for half of the team's hits in game one...Sophomore
Will Welsh was 1-for-2 with a run scored and two walks, while Cohick and freshman
Beau Heagy also drew two walks...Ryan Wegner was 3-for-4 with four runs scored for the Wildcats.

SUNY Poly 14, Lancaster Bible 4 -- Game 2
How it Happened: Game two looked quite familiar as the Wildcats opened a huge early lead, scoring 12 runs in the first three innings and cruised to the easy win. SUNY Poly's Dante Rose had the big hit for the Wildcats in game two as he hit a bases clearing double in the team's seven-run third inning.Â
Elliott's RBI single in the third got the Chargers on the board, but Lancaster Bible hit into three double plays during the game and could never mount a comeback. The Wildcats' Josh Rodriguez smashed a home run to left field in the eighth inning to make it a 14-2 game and the home run marked the first long ball of the season for SUNY Poly.
Inside the Box Score: Justin Taylor went 2-for-4 in game two and his RBI single in the eighth inning marked the 200th hit of his collegiate career...
Sam Taylor, Justin's brother, was 1-for-1 with an RBI, while Niedergall was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 5-9 all-time against SUNY Poly.
