The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team won its third straight match on Wednesday, defeating Trinity (D.C.), 8-1 in Washington, D.C. The win over Trinity (D.C.) was the second in five days as the Chargers beat Trinity (D.C.), 7-0 on Friday in Lancaster, Pa.
On Wednesday, Lancaster Bible won all three doubles matches as the Chargers jumped out to a 3-0 lead.
Greta Strunk and
Lynndath Thelemaque improved to 5-0 this season at number one doubles as they won, 8-1. Seniors
Brianne Smith and
Stephanie Blest won a tight match, 9-8 (10-8) as they defeated Gwynne Arias and Armani McCoy.
Kayla Weaser and
Sarah Wetzel completed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win at number three doubles.
Singles went well for the Chargers as well, as Strunk won 6-0, 6-1 at number one singles for her fourth straight victory. Thelemaque won a close match at number two singles, defeating Yashada Premysler, 4-6, 6-0, 10-5. Weaser won at number four singles, cruising to a 6-4, 6-0 win, while Wetzel won, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8 at number five singles.
Rachel Snyder also won, defeating Tiffany Pane, 6-3, 6-3 at number six singles.
Lancaster Bible is set to return to the court on Thursday as the Chargers face Penn St. Harrisburg at 3:30 p.m. in Middletown, Pa.
