The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team tied a program record with its 19th win on Tuesday night, as the Chargers defeated Marywood, 3-0 at Horst Athletic Center. The Chargers improved to 19-7 this season with a 25-23, 25-20, 25-19 win, while the Pacers dropped 14-10.

Match Recap: Lancaster Bible took a 7-5 lead early in the first set, but the Pacers tied at 7-7, and the teams went back-and-forth for a few more points before the Chargers won four of five, and took a 15-11 lead on a kill from senior
Courtney Goyak. Marywood cut its deficit to two, 16-14, but Lancaster Bible won four of five points again, and took a 20-15 lead on a kill from
Ashtyn Bouslog.

The Pacers wouldn't go away however, and won six of eight points to tie the match at 23-23 after a kill from Ashley King. After a timeout, the Chargers got a kill from Goyak to take a one point advantage, and then closed out the set on another kill from Bouslog.

Lancaster Bible kept the momentum early in the second set, taking a 9-4 lead after an ace from senior
Hannah Gipe. The Chargers eventually led 12-6 after a block assist from Bouslog and Goyak, and held a 15-10 edge after a solo block from
Allison Shuey.

Again though, Marywood battled and trailed just 18-16 after a service error from the Chargers. Lancaster Bible rebounded, and won the next four points, using three straight errors by the Pacers to take a 22-16 lead. Goyak closed out the set with a kill to give the Chargers a 25-20 victory, and a two set lead.

Marywood opened the third set on an 8-4 run, but Lancaster Bible won seven of the next eight points, and led 11-9 after an ace from senior
Jenny Mulvey. The teams exchanged points through the middle of the set, and after an ace from Sara Burgos, the Pacers tied the set at 18-18.

Lancaster Bible wouldn't be denied however, and won seven of the final eight points to earn the 25-19 third-set victory.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 32 kills, while the Pacers had 23…The Chargers also held a 10-2 advantage in team blocks, and a 7-5 edge in aces…The Pacers held a 44-42 advantage in digs…Goyak and Bouslog each had 10 kills for the Chargers, while Goyak added six blocks…Shuey finished with two kills, 27 assists, six blocks and three digs…Gipe had five kills, two aces and three digs, while

Up Next: Lancaster Bible will wrap-up its regular season on Saturday in Morristown, N.J., as the Chargers take on St. Elizabeth at 11 a.m., and then face Misericordia at 1 p.m…The first match is the final North Eastern Athletic Conference match of the season, and a win will clinch the second seed for the Chargers in the upcoming NEAC playoffs, meaning the Chargers would earn an automatic bid into the NEAC Semifinals, and await their opponent, who they would play on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Morrisville, N.Y.
