The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team lost its second straight game on Saturday, falling to DeSales, 80-68 in the Consolation game of the Salisbury Optimist International Tournament in Salisbury, Md. The Chargers are now 1-2 this season, while the Bulldogs improved to 2-2.

Isaac Beers drained a 3-pointer with 4:21 to play in the opening half to tie the game at 28-28, and a jumper from senior
Quentin Davis on the Chargers next possession gave Lancaster Bible a 30-28 lead.
Another layup by Davis later in the half gave Lancaster Bible a 34-32 lead at the break. The teams continued to trade buckets early in the second half, but Lancaster Bible earned some breathing room with just over 10 minutes to play, 57-51, as freshman
Brett Bechler knocked down a 3-pointer.
Bechler's 3-pointer with 10:02 remaining would be Lancaster Bible's final bucket for the next eight minutes as the offense went cold and managed just four made free throws, and trailed by eight by its next field goal.
Lancaster Bible battled, and tried to comeback, but never got the deficit back to within single digits over the last two minutes of the game, and lost by 12.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 42.9 percent (27-of-63) from the floor, but were just 7-of-23 from 3-point range, and 7-of-1 5 from the free throw line…DeSales shot 43.3 percent (26-of-60) from the field, including 11-of-23 from 3-point range, and 17-of-20 from the free throw line…Senior
Alex Whitt shattered his career high, as he had 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting…

Jordan Shewbridge was the third and final Lancaster Bible players in double figures with 10 points.
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 0-7 all-time against DeSales…After sinking 12 3-pointers in the season-opening victory over Messiah, the Chargers have combined for just 13 3-pointers over their last two contests…The Chargers had 10 steals and 10 offensive rebounds in Saturday's loss, marking the first time the team has hit double-digits in either of those two categories.
