The Lancaster Bible College baseball team seems to like something about the Myrtle Beach air, as the Chargers scored 20 or more runs for the third time this week in their 24-13 victory over Clarks Summit. Lancaster Bible has now scored 103 runs through five games this week in South Carolina, and will look to make it a perfect week on Saturday morning, when the Chargers face MacMurray at 9 a.m.

Game Notes: As has become custom this week, the Chargers stormed out of the gate, scoring six runs in the top of the first...Sophomore Sam Taylor led off with a solo home run, while junior Will Welsh added a two-run single in the inning as well...Sophomore Beau Heagy and senior Jacob Schenck also had RBIs in the first inning...After Clarks Summit scored a run in both the first and second innings, the Chargers scored twice in the third, highlighted by sophomore Nate McFarland's RBI sacrifice bunt...Leading 8-5 after four innings, Lancaster Bible scored three times in the fifth inning, as senior Braden Elliott had a two-run single...The Chargers poured it on in the sixth inning, as Lancaster Bible scored eight more runs to take a 19-6 lead...In the sixth, Schenck had another two-run hit, while fellow senior Josh Mayer crushed a three-run home run...Lancaster Bible led the rest of the way, as freshman Jake Hahn helped add to the lead with three RBi in the final two innings, including a two-run double in the eighth.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 22 hits, while Clarks Summit had 11...Four players had three hits, including McFarland who was 3-for-3 with two runs and 1 RBI...Sam Taylor finished 3-for-6 with four runs scored and three RBI...Elliott was 3-for-6 with three runs and three RBI...Heagy finished 3-for-4 with four runs and an RBI...Junior Colin Myers was 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI...10 different Lancaster Bible players had a hit, while 11 different players scored at least one run...Seven different pitchers threw for the Chargers, including freshman Landon Mowry who picked up his first-ever collegiate victory.
