The Lancaster Bible College baseball team lost its fourth straight game on Thursday, falling to cross-county foe Elizabethtown, 11-6 at Charger Field. The Chargers are now 10-9 overall this season, while the Blue Jays improved to 8-13.

Game Notes:
-Both teams loaded the bases in their half of the first inning, but neither could score, and both teams went down in order 1-2-3 in the second inning
-Elizabethtown got on the board first in the top of the third, as Colby Smith hit a two-run home run, and Mike Christy singled later in the inning to give the Blue Jays a 3-0 lead
-Lancaster Bible answered in its half of the third inning, as Braden Elliott reached on an error and Sam Taylor came around to score
-Josh Mayer singled later in the inning to trim the Chargers' deficit to 3-2, as Elliott came around to score
-The Blue Jays tacked on five more runs in the top of the fourth, highlighted by Christy's two run single to left field that made it 8-2
-Taggart Hess added to Elizabethtown's lead in the fifth with his first home run of the season, as the two-run shot gave the Blue Jays a 10-2 advantage
-Lancaster Bible got a run back in the bottom of the sixth on Sam Taylor's sacrifice fly, but the Blue Jays responded with a run in the seventh to make it 11-3
-The Chargers made it 11-4 in the seventh inning on Mayer's sacrifice fly, and scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth thanks to bases loaded walks to Jake Hahn and Mike VanDame, but the Chargers left the bases loaded, and lost by five

-The Blue Jays had 16 hits, while the Chargers had 10…Neither team played overly well defensively, as Elizabethtown committed five errors, and Lancaster Bible had four
-Elliott finished 2-for-4 with two runs, while Beau Heagy was 2-for-3 with a run scored…Nate Buonomo finished 1-for-1 with a run, as did Tommy Croke who smacked the first hit of his collegiate career…Christy finished 3-for-5 with three RBI for Elizabethtown

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 0-6 all-time against Elizabethtown…The Chargers opened their season with five straight losses, won 10 straight games, and now have lost four straight…Lancaster Bible hitters struck out a season-high 12 times on Thursday…After scoring double-digit runs in seven of the 10 wins, the Chargers have gone six straight games without scoring 10 or more runs.
