The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team lost its final regular season match of the season on Tuesday, falling to Eastern, 8-1 at Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pa. The loss drops the Chargers to 6-5 this season, while the Eagles improved to 6-5.
The lone win of the day for Lancaster Bible came from the flight three doubles team of Haylee Fishel and Lydia Dice who defeated Emily Thomas and Cara Degnan, 9-7. The number one doubles team of Greta Strunk and Michaela Dearborn fell, 8-2, while the flight two team of Lynndath Thelemaque and Sarah Wetzel lost, 8-3.
Strunk lost in singles play for just the second time this season, as she fell to Emma Paugh, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. Thelemaque dropped her flight two singles match, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, while Dearborn also lost in three sets, falling, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. 
Wetzel lost at number four singles, 6-2, 6-1, and Fishel suffered a 6-1, 6-1 defeat to Thomas. Dice dropped her flight six singles match, 6-2, 6-1 to Degnan. 
Lancaster Bible returns to the court Wednesday night in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Semifinals, as the Chargers take on Penn St. Abington. The match will be held in Clarks Summit, Pa. at the Birchwood Tennis & Fitness Club, and is set to begin at 6 p.m. The winner will advance to the NEAC Final, which will be held on Thursday morning.
