Mustangs Sprint Past Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College field hockey team dropped to 0-3 on Saturday, as the Chargers lost to Morrisville State, 12-1 in Morrisville, N.Y. The Mustangs improved to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Chargers fell to 0-1 in conference action.

Game Recap: Morrisville State opened the scoring at 8:39, as Brianna Fischetti scored off a rebound to give the Mustangs a 1-0 advantage. Morrisville State scored three more times over the next 2:49, and took a commanding 4-0 lead.

Haley Evarts scored the first of her two first half goals at 25:01 to make it 5-0, and then scored again 6:18 later to make it 6-0. The Mustangs would score one more time before the end of the half, and lead 1-0 after 35 minutes of play.

Lancaster Bible scored the first goal of the second half, as Cristina Winchell scored her first career goal off a rebound, with the assist going to Cassidy Snedeker.

The Mustangs would score five more times following the Chargers goal, capping the score at 12-1.

By the Numbers: Morrisville State led the Chargers in shots, 39-5, including 17-4 in shots on goal…The Mustangs had 13 penalty corners, while the Chargers had three…Lancaster Bible goalkeeper Annelise Culbert made five saves for the Chargers.

Information Hodge Podge: Saturday marked the first-ever NEAC contest for the Chargers…Lancaster Bible has scored in two of its first three contests, including the first goal of the second half in two of its first three games.

Up Next: Lancaster Bible heads to Chambersburg, Pa. on Wednesday to take on Wilson at 5 p.m.
