The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team won its fourth straight game on Wednesday, as the Chargers downed St. Elizabeth, 86-73 in Morristown, N.J. The Chargers are now 11-6 overall and 8-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Eagles fell to 9-7 overall and 4-4 in conference action.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible came out on fire on Wednesday night, as freshman
Jordan Shewbridge knocked down two 3-pointers around another 3-pointer from fellow freshman
Benny Raymond, as the Chargers took a 9-0 lead 2:38 into the contest. Junior
Luke Beers added five straight points a minute later, and a 3-pointer from sophomore
Britton Beachy at the 15:07 mark gave the Chargers a 17-2 advantage.

St. Elizabeth would eventually cut its deficit to 10 midway through the opening half, but back-to-back 3-pointers from
Tyler Hilton and Shewbridge moved the Chargers' lead back to 14 with 9:10 remaining. The teams exchanged baskets over the final minutes of the half, as Beachy scored the final four points for the Chargers, and the visitors took a 51-34 lead into halftime.

The Chargers maintained their double-digit lead for much of the opening 10 minutes of the second half, though St. Elizabeth cut it to seven for a moment, before Shewbridge hit yet another triple from beyond the arc with 11:50 to play to make it 63-53 in favor of the Chargers. Lancaster Bible continued to withstand everything St. Elizabeth could throw the Chargers' way, but the Eagles eventually put a late run together and cut their deficit to five, 76-71 with 3:20 to play.

Quentin Davis put the Chargers on his back in the final two minutes of the game, as he converted a layup to give Lancaster Bible a seven-point lead, and then stole the ball and got fouled, and made the free throws to give the Chargers an 80-71 lead with two minutes to play. St. Elizabeth tried to make another run, but Shewbridge hit his sixth and final 3-pointer of the game with 50 seconds remaining, and sealed the victory for Lancaster Bible.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 55.9 percent (33-of-59) from the field, including 10-of-26 from 3-point range…The Chargers were also 10-of-13 from the free throw line, and shot 20-of-30 from the field in the first half…Lancaster Bible was also 14-of-17 on two-point field goals in the opening 20 minutes…St. Elizabeth shot 34.8 percent (24-of-69) from the floor, but just 8-of-31 from beyond the arc…Davis led the Chargers with 21 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists, and also added four steals and two blocks…Shewbridge posted 18 points, as he was 6-of-11 from 3-point range, and Beers had 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists…
Benny Raymond added nine points, as did
Britton Beachy, who also had six assists and five rebounds…
Tyler Hilton was a perfect 3-of-3 from the floor, as he finished with eight points…Cam Tucker had 18 points to pace the Eagles.
