The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team won its second straight game on Wednesday night, and stayed perfect in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, as the Chargers took down Penn College, 68-52 in Williamsport, Pa. Lancaster Bible is now 7-5 overall this season and 4-0 in conference play, while the Wildcats dropped to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in NEAC action.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible sophomore
Britton Beachy opened the game on fire, as he scored seven of the team's first 12 points, and gave the Chargers a 12-6 lead almost six minutes into the game. Freshman
Jordan Shewbridge drained his second 3-pointer of the game, and converted a layup on Lancaster Bible's next possession to give the Chargers a 17-9 lead at the 13:21 mark.

Both team's offenses stalled midway through the first half, though back-to-back buckets from
Quentin Davis gave Lancaster Bible a 25-13 lead with 6:17 remaining. After Penn College cut its deficit to seven, Lancaster Bible used a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to increase its lead to 35-18, and eventually took a 35-21 lead into halftime.

The Wildcats trimmed the Chargers' lead to nine on two occasions early in the second half, but they would not get any closer, as Lancaster Bible went on a quick 8-0 run capped by Beachy's three-point play, and took a 51-34 advantage with 13:38 to play. Senior
Alex Whitt converted a layup midway through the second half to give the Chargers their first 20-point lead, 58-38, and the Chargers led by as many as 22 before prevailing by 16.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 41.5 percent (27-of-65) from the floor, including 9-of-23 from 3-point range, though the Chargers were just 5-of-12 from the free throw line…Penn College shot 33.3 percent (20-of-60) from the field, but were just 7-of-29 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-11 from the free throw line…The Chargers outscored the Wildcats, 30-20 in the paint…Davis led the Chargers with 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals, while Beachy posted 12 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds…Shewbridge was the third and final player in double digits with 11 points…
Alex Whitt had eight points and eight boards, while

Isaac Beers each had five points…Spencer Bartron led the Wildcats with 12 points.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 11-0 all-time against Penn College, and is now 6-0 all-time in Williamsport, Pa…The 68 points are the lowest total in a win for the Chargers this season, and their 41.5 percent shooting was the second lowest in a victory this season…Wednesday marked the third time this season the Chargers have had double-digit steals in a game…Beachy's 11 assists are a career-high, and the most in a game for a Lancaster Bible player since Jan. 15, 2005 when Nate Smith posted 12 against Davis College.
