The Lancaster Bible College field hockey team dropped its final home game of the season on Saturday morning, as the Chargers lost to Morrisville State, 5-3 at the Donald H. Funk Field. Lancaster Bible is now 3-14 overall this season after the Senior Day loss, while the Mustangs improved to 2-14.

How it Happened: Morrisville State opened the scoring 4:11 into the contest when Grace Hanehan collected the ball in the circle and hit a reverse shot into the back of the cage. The Mustangs held the 1-0 lead through the end of the first quarter, and extended it to 2-0 at 21:52 when Hanehan scored her second of the game and 10
th of the season from the left side of the cage.

The Lancaster Bible offense woke up 2:35 later, as
Macy Balmer found the ball in the circle and scored to the right side of the goalkeeper and cut the Chargers' deficit in half. Just 3:04 later, the Chargers had control of the ball in the circle, and
Blessing Bowman's first shot was saved, but she took the rebound and found
Brooke Sareyka who tied the game with her fourth goal of the year.

The offense continued for each team in the second half, as the Chargers took their first lead of the game at the 35:00 minute mark, as Balmer scored again, and gave the home team a 3-2 advantage. The lead lasted for just 2:05 however, as Camberly VanValkenburg scored her third goal of the year to knot the game at 3-3.

The game stayed tied through 45 minutes, but Morrisville State scored at 48:50, as Heather Cummings scored off a pass from Hanehan, and gave the Mustangs a 4-3 lead. Morrisville State put the game away less than four minutes later when VanValkenburg scored again.

Statistically Speaking: Morrisville State outshot the Chargers, 18-16, including 14-9 in shots on goal…The Mustangs also held a 12-7 advantage in penalty corners…
Chloe Campbell made nine saves in goal for the Chargers...Lancaster Bible did not have a shot in the fourth quarter.
