The Lancaster Bible College baseball team took part in its second day of games on Monday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Tuesday, and the Chargers earned a split of a doubleheader with Centenary. The Cyclones took game one, 5-2, while the Chargers earned a 4-0 victory in game two, as junior Kyle Ebersole pitched a complete-game shutout. Lancaster Bible is now 1-2 overall this season, while Centenary stands at 3-4.
 
Game 1
Centenary 5, Lancaster Bible 2
Game Notes:
-The Cyclones jumped on the board in the top of the first inning, as Ryan Jasiecki tripled home two runs
-Centenary tacked on another run in the second inning, and the Lancaster Bible offense was silent for much of the middle innings, before Jake Hahn tripled in the fifth inning, but was stranded
-Lancaster Bible's deficit grew to 5-0 in the top half of the sixth inning, as Chris Gass singled home two runs
-The Chargers got two runs back in the bottom of the sixth when Jacob Schenck singled home Luis Padilla Jr. and Colin Myers
-Lancaster Bible couldn't trim the deficit any smaller in the final inning, and lost for the second straight time

-Padilla Jr. had two hits for the Chargers, while Adam Cohick, Jacob Alvarez, Schenck and Hahn also had hits…Josh Saufley and Myers each drew a walk…Dan Zimmerman started, and pitched 5 1/3 innings for the Chargers, as he allowed five runs, but just four hits, and struck out eight…Zach Clemens pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, and allowed just one hit, while striking out two.

Game Notes:
-Lancaster Bible scored first in game two, as Saufley singled to lead off the game, and moved to third on Padilla's double two batters later…After Will Welsh was hit by a pitch, Schenck drew a walk, which scored Saufley to make it 1-0
-Lancaster Bible starter Kyle Ebersole worked out of a jam in the bottom of the first, and was dominant in the middle innings, as the Chargers led, 1-0 after four innings of play
-After Colin Myers singled to lead off the top half of the fifth, Padilla doubled him home to make it 2-0, and Welsh followed with a double of his own that scored Padilla, and increased the lead to 3-0
-Beau Heagy singled later in the inning to score Welsh, and the Chargers took a four-run lead
-Centenary put two runners on base in both the fifth and seventh innings, but Ebersole eluded trouble both times, and struck out Cole Fratesi to end the game, and preserve the shutout

-Ebersole went the distance, and allowed seven hits, while striking out eight…He walked just two batters en route to his first career collegiate victory…Padilla continued to swing a hot bat, as he went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI…Welsh was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored…Myers and Saufley each recorded a hit and scored a run, while Heagy was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
 
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 2-1 all-time against Centenary…Lancaster Bible pitchers had two complete games a year ago, as Zack Leonard and Zimmerman threw complete games a year ago…Ebersole's previous high for innings pitched in a game was 4 1/3, which he did last year against Keuka on April 20.
