The Lancaster Bible College baseball team saw its two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday, as the Chargers lost to one of the hottest teams in all of NCAA Division III, as Catholic University defeated the Chargers, 11-3 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The win propelled the Cardinals to a perfect spring break trip, and a 7-3 overall record, while the Chargers dropped to 2-3.

Game Notes:
-Lancaster Bible opened the scoring the top of the first, as senior
Will Welsh doubled home
Jacob Schenck who had reached on a fielder's choice earlier in the inning
-The Chargers increased their lead to two in the top of the third when
Josh Saufley singled, and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Schenck…Luis Padilla followed with a single that scored Saufley, and the Chargers had a 2-0 lead
-Lancaster Bible held that lead until the bottom of the fifth, as starter
Tyler Greenly pitched well and held the Cardinals' bats at bay
-In the fifth inning however, Catholic loaded the bases on an error, walk and hit, and Nolan Lundholm tied the game at 2-2 with a single to left field
-Greenly worked out a jam to end the fifth, and then got through the sixth inning as well, for the longest outing of his career
-Lancaster Bible put two runners on in the top of the seventh, and Schenck singled with two outs, but Mike Van Dame was thrown out at the plate, and the game went the seventh inning stretch tied at 2-2
-Catholic's bats woke up in the bottom half of the seventh inning, as the Cardinals chased Greenly from the game after 105 pitches, and eventually led, 7-2 after the seventh inning
-Padilla homered in the top of the eighth to bring the Chargers to within four at 7-3, but Catholic scored four more times in the bottom half of the inning and put the game away
-This was the first-ever meeting between the two schools
