The Lancaster Bible College baseball team dropped its sixth straight game on Tuesday, as the Chargers lost a non-conference affair to Penn St. Altoona, 12-9 at Charger Field. Lancaster Bible is now 8-16 overall this season, while the Nittany Lions improved to 21-13.

How it Happened: Penn St. Altoona scored twice in both the first and second innings, though the Chargers got a run back in the third, as

Lancaster Bible got another run back in the bottom of the third when senior
Will Welsh hammered his ninth home run of the season over the centerfield wall. After a scoreless fourth for both teams, the Nittany Lions scored two runs in the fifth courtesy of a two-run home run from George Stiuso, his fifth of the season. Lancaster Bible answered right back in its half of the fifth, as
Jacob Schenck hit a solo home run to left-center field, and
Will Welsh scored on a sacrifice fly from
Colin Myers later in the inning to make it 6-4 in favor of the Nittany Lions.

The Nittany Lions took advantage of six walks in the top of the seventh, and built a 12-4 lead after a six-run inning that included just two hits. Lancaster Bible junior
Beau Heagy hit his third home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 12-5 game, and the Chargers nearly completed the comeback in the ninth inning.

Lancaster Bible batted around in the inning, and scored five times on four hits, and also took advantage of two Penn St. Altoona errors.
