The Lancaster Bible College baseball team earned a pair of huge wins on Saturday, as the Chargers swept a doubleheader from Cazenovia at Charger Field to keep its North Eastern Athletic Conference playoff hopes alive. The Chargers took game one, 9-6, and then won, 20-7 in game two, as Lancaster Bible improved to 10-17 overall and 6-8 in NEAC action, while the Wildcats fell to 4-20 overall and 1-12 in conference play.

Lancaster Bible 9, Cazenovia 6
How it Happened: Both teams brought their bats to game one, as the Wildcats scored three times in the top of the first, but Lancaster Bible responded with seven runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning. Senior
Will Welsh hit a bases-clearing triple in the first to tie the game at 3-3, and fellow senior
Jacob Schenck followed with a two-run home run to give the home team the lead.

Josh Saufley had RBI singles later in the inning, as the Chargers batted around in the first.
Jaden Pinkney had an RBI single in the second, and
Nate McFarland's sacrifice fly in the third inning made it 9-3 in favor of the Chargers. Cazenovia scored in the fourth and fifth innings, but
Trevor High came on in the seventh and earned his first save of the season.

How it Happened: The Chargers picked up right where they left off in game one, as Lancaster Bible scored three times in the first inning. Welsh singled home Saufley to get the Chargers on the board, while Luis Padilla Jr. and Welsh scored unearned runs later in the inning.

The middle innings were kind to the Chargers, as they scored 15 runs between the third and sixth innings. Welsh had another RBI single in the third, while
Jake Hahn had a two-run double in the third as well. Welsh posted an RBI single in the fourth as well, and Schenck followed with a three-run home run that put the Chargers ahead, 15-2.
