Senior Day Sweep

The Lancaster Bible College baseball team celebrated Senior Day with an 8-2 win over Cazenovia, as the Chargers completed a three-game sweep of the Wildcats at Charger Field. Lancaster Bible improves to 11-17 overall with the win, and 7-8 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Wildcats are now 4-21 overall and 1-13 in NEAC action.
 
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible got on the board in the first inning, as senior Will Welsh hit a sacrifice fly that scored Josh Saufley, and fellow senior Adam Cohick singled home senior Jacob Schenck later in the inning to make it 2-0.
 
The Chargers tacked on another run in the third inning, as Welsh singled home Schenck, and Lancaster Bible's Jake Hahn made it 5-0 in the fourth inning with his two-run single to center field that scored Mike VanDame and Colin Myers.
 
Cazenovia got on the board in the fifth with an unearned run, but Jaden Pinkney blasted a three-run home run in the bottom half of the inning to make it 8-1 in favor of the Chargers. Another run by Cazenovia in the sixth capped the scoring, as Lancaster Bible starter Tyler Greenly celebrated his Senior Day with a complete game victory. Greenly allowed just five hits over nine innings, and struck out four, as he improved to 2-3 this season.
 
Inside the Box Score: Lancaster Bible had 11 hits on Sunday…Welsh was 1-for-3 with two RBIs…Hahn finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs…Cohick and Myers each finished 1-for-3 with a run scored…Jacob Alvarez celebrated Senior Day by going 2-for-4 with a run…VanDame was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run.
 
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 10-8-1 all-time against the Wildcats…The Chargers went 6-4 at home this season, including 6-1 in home NEAC contests…Welsh now has 54 hits this season, and has driven in 42 runs…Hahn has nine hits over his past five games, and has knocked in seven runs over that span as well…The complete game was the first of Greenly's collegiate career.
 
Up Next: Lancaster Bible will play its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday, as the Chargers head to Annville, Pa. to face Lebanon Valley at 3:30 p.m.
