Box Score The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team saw its chance at a North Eastern Athletic Conference championship end on Saturday morning, as the Chargers lost to Penn St. Abington, 5-3 at the Birchwood Tennis Facility in Clarks Summit, Pa. Lancaster Bible ends the team portion of the season with a record of 7-5, tied for the most wins in program history with the 2010 squad that went 7-7.

How it Happened: Penn St. Abington won two of the three doubles matches on Saturday, as Lancaster Bible's No. 1 team of
Greta Strunk and
Kayla Hubbard lost, 8-3, while the No. 2 team of
Michaela Dearborn and
Haylee Fishel suffered an 8-6 defeat. The No. 3 team of
Sarah Wetzel and
Kenedi Berkhimer earned an 8-3 victory to get the Chargers on the board.

In singles play, Strunk picked up a win for the Chargers at No. 1, as she defeated Stephanie Jin, 6-4, 6-2. Dearborn lost her match at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1, and Hubbard fell to Marta Tymchenko, 6-2, 7-6 at No. 3 singles.

Fishel earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles, but Michelle Ly outlasted Berkhimer, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 6 singles, and won the match for the Nittany Lions. Wetzel was in the third set of her match when Ly's win sealed the team victory for Penn St. Abington, and thus No. 5 singles was not completed.
