The Lancaster Bible College baseball team saw its offense wake up in a big way on Saturday, as the Chargers pounded 24 hits and scored 29 runs in take the opening game of a three-game series with Gallaudet, 29-5 at Charger Field. Lancaster Bible is now 4-9 overall and 1-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Bison dropped to 7-16 overall and 0-4 in NEAC action.

How it Happened: The Chargers led from the get-go, as Luis Padilla Jr. hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first to score
Josh Saufley. Lancaster Bible scored again in the second inning, and then blew the game open in the third inning with five runs, as
Jacob Schenck hit the first of his three home runs on the day, while
Adam Cohick hit a two-run home run in the inning too.

Gallaudet got on the board in the fourth inning, but Saufley hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning, and Padilla added a two-run home run later in the inning as well, as the Chargers grabbed a 12-1 advantage. The Bison scored four times in their half of the sixth inning, but Schenck hit his second home run in the sixth, and Lancaster Bible scored four more times in the seventh inning as well.

Lancaster Bible sent 17 batters to the plate in the eighth inning, as the Chargers tacked on 12 more runs on nine hits and an error. Schenck singled and hit his third home run of the game, this one a grand slam, in the inning, while Saufley homered and walked in the eighth.
Tommy Croke had an RBI single in the inning, while
Will Welsh singled and walked as well in the inning.
