Lancaster Bible College senior Will Welsh was named North Eastern Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday, as he helped the Chargers to a three-game sweep of Gallaudet at Charger Field.
 
Welsh was 3-for-5 with two walks in Friday's 29-5 victory over the Bison, as he added three RBIs and three runs scored. He was 3-for-5 with six RBIs and a run scored in Sunday's opening game, as he crushed a three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning.
 
In game two on Sunday, Welsh was terrific, as he was 4-for-4 with five runs scored and four RBIs. He blasted three more home runs in the game two, the first three-home run game of his career.
 
For the week, Welsh was 10-of-14 from the plate with 13 runs driven in and nine runs scored. He smashed four home runs and also drew five walks.
 
Welsh has 30 hits this season with 26 RBIs, and has also scored 20 runs. He has six home runs and is batting .526.
