The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team's three-match winning streak came to an end on Tuesday night, as Mount Aloysius defeated the Chargers, 3-2 in front of a boisterous Horst Athletic Center crowd. The Chargers are now 6-8 overall this season, while the Mounties improved to 9-5 with the 15-25, 25-15, 19-25, 25-18, 15-11 victory.
Â
How it Happened: With the opening set tied at 5-5, Lancaster Bible won nine straight points to take a 14-5 lead.
Ashtyn Bouslog had three aces during the run, while

Â
Everything that went right for the Chargers in the first set soured in the second, as Mount Aloysius raced out to a 12-6 lead thanks to an ace from Emma Pevarnik. Lancaster Bible tried to get back into the set, and cut the deficit to 19-12, but the Mounties won three of the final four points, and evened the match on a kill from Lydia DeFazio.
Â
The floor tilted back the Chargers way in the third set, as Lancaster Bible grabbed a 12-5 lead after another ace from Bouslog, after
Aleah Heyworth and Roberts had kills. Another kill from Heyworth later in the set gave the Chargers a 21-15 advantage, and
Cassidy King put the set away a few points later with another kill.
Â
Like they did in the second set, Mount Aloysius jumped out to an early lead, as the Mounties led, 7-2 after an ace from Ava Myers. Lancaster Bible clawed back into the set, and trailed just 11-10 after a kill from
Cassidy King. The teams traded points after King's kill, but then Mount Aloysius won nine of the next 10 points to take a 21-12 lead, and then won the set, 25-18.
Â
Mount Aloysius took an early 5-3 lead in the fifth and final set, but after a service error, the Chargers trailed by just one. Lancaster Bible tied the set, 8-8 after back-to-back kills from
Courtney Goyak, and the teams then traded points once again. The Mounties eventually led, 12-11 after a kill from Lancaster Bible's
Kate Smoker, but took the final three points, as Machala Gibbons had two kills, including the match-clincher.
