How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College Field Hockey team got edged out by Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Cedar Crest by a score of 1-0 on Saturday, October 2.

The Chargers (1-8 Overall, 0-2 CSAC) generated some early offense, with Ashlynn Tober and Hannah Hoffman taking early shots. Hoffman would put another shot on goal midway through the quarter but the Falcons (3-6 Overall, 1-1 CSAC) goalkeeper was able to make the save. Later in the quarter, Cedar Crest would capitalize on two fouls by the Chargers and score to take the early lead. LBC looked to answer back when a minute later Kayla Willing fired a shot on goal, but once again the Falcons came up with a key save. LBC continued to create scoring chances with Haley Stahl firing a pair of quality shots off penalty corners in the second quarter, but she could not tie the game. The score remained 1-0 heading into the half.

Cedar Crest controlled possession early in the third quarter, creating several scoring chances, but LBC's starting goalkeeper Alexis Garrett was up to the challenge, making nine saves in the game. Later in the quarter off a penalty corner Hoffman would again put a shot on goal but could not break through. Cedar Crest controlled possession in the final quarter and hung on for the 1-0 victory.
