How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team fell to York College in a nonconference matchup by a score of 96-72 on Tuesday, November 23.

The Chargers (2-3 Overall) took an early two-point lead when
Jordan Shewbridge knocked down a jumper. The Spartans (3-2 Overall) tied the game at six, before
Jalen Glasgow drilled a 3-pointer, allowing the Chargers to retake the lead. York battled back, surging to a 15-11 lead with 13:20 remaining in the first half. After a Shewbridge layup,
Tyler Hilton scored a layup to tie the game at 15.
Grant Sareyka drove to the basket, drawing a foul and completing a three-point play to put the Chargers ahead 18-16. Later in the half, LBC would go on a 5-0 run after Shewbridge knocked down a deep 3-pointer. Glasgow extended LBC's lead to seven, draining his second 3-pointer of the half. The Spartans slowly battled back, pulling with two points with 5:35 remaining in the half. After York tied the game at 34, Sareyka converted another layup, giving LBC a two-point lead. The Spartans scored seven straight points to retake a five-point lead with 1:28 remaining in the half.
Isaiah Mitchell and Sareyka hit back-to-back jumpers before the end of the half, but LBC trailed 43-40 at the break.

LBC battled back early in the second half, with
Caleb Carpenter knocking down a jump shot to pull the Chargers within one point.
Jordan Praylow followed with a 3-pointer, giving LBC a 51-49 lead. York answered back with an 8-2 run to retake the lead. Sareyka made a layup and then hit a pair of free throws to keep the Chargers within striking distance. The Spartans went on a 15-0 run, seizing momentum and taking a 76-59 lead with 8:50 remaining in the game. Shewbridge, slowed the run by hitting a deep 3-pointer. York continued to push the pace, scoring 13 consecutive points to take a 27-point lead. The Spartans cruised to a 96-72 victory.

Coaching Points
"We played with good effort and focus on the defensive end in the first half, but we struggled to protect the paint in the second half," said head coach
Jon Mack. "It's tough to win games when you only get 13 stops in the second half, especially against a quality team like York. We will regroup after Thanksgiving Break and get prepared for conference play."
