Chargers Fall At Robert Morris

How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team fell in an exhibition game to NCAA Division I opponent Robert Morris University by a score of 99-51 on Wednesday, December 8.
 
The Chargers (4-3 Overall, 2-0 United East) took an early lead when Jordan Shewbridge connected on a 3-pointer. Robert Morris (1-7, 0-2 Horizon) would answer scoring 10 of the next 12 points to take a seven-point lead. Shewbridge halted the run drilling his second 3-pointer of the game. Jalen Glasgow finished a layup in the paint, bringing LBC back within six points. The Colonials answered back, going on a 13-0 run to take a 29-10 lead. Shewbridge continued to power the Chargers' offense, hitting two more 3-pointers. Jakari Wilkins added two 3-pointers of his own, but the Chargers trailed 54-24 at the break.
 
Robert Morris opened the second half on a 10-2 run, taking a 39-point lead. The Colonials stretched the advantage to as many as 47 points midway through the half. Shewbridge hit his sixth 3-pointer of the game, sparking a 5-0 run. The Colonials proved to be too much for the Chargers to keep pace with, allowing Robert Morris to pick up a 99-51 victory.
 
Inside The Numbers
- The Chargers' offense was led by Jordan Shewbridge who scored 22 points, going 6-14 from beyond the arc
- Jakari Wilkins scored nine points in 17 minutes of action
- Tyler Hilton led LBC in rebounds, gathering in seven boards
- Jordan Praylow dished a season-high seven assists
- The Colonials were led by Kam Farris who scored a game-high 27 points
- Robert Morris won the battle on the glass, holding a 47-22 advantage in rebounds
 
Coaching Points
"We struggled to improve and compete today despite the competition level," said head coach Jon Mack. "I thought we took several steps back. We need to be much better tomorrow."

The men's basketball team will be back on the road when they face Neumann University Thursday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m.
