The Lancaster Bible College softball team got back into the win column on Sunday, sweeping a doubleheader from Wells at Charger Field. The Chargers took game one, 9-1 in five innings, and then won game two, 5-0. Lancaster Bible is now 4-10 overall and 4-10 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Express fell to 0-12 overall and 0-10 in NEAC action.

Game 1
Lancaster Bible 9, Wells 1 (5 innings)
How it Happened: Each team scored a run in the top of the first, as the Chargers loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning, and
Chloe King, playing in her first-ever collegiate game, drew a walk, and knotted the game at 1-1.

Lancaster Bible plated five runs in the second inning, as
Adalyn Steiner and
Phoebe Clemens walked and scored on a two-run single by
Nicole DeKok.
Sydney Wooden and
Hope Hodges also walked and scored in the inning, as the Chargers built a five-run lead.

How it Happened: Game two was a pitcher's duel, as Olivia Maish and DeKok went back-and-forth. Each team managed just two hits over the first four innings, and neither team had a runner past second base until Clemens reached third in the fourth inning after a wild pitch.

Lancaster Bible finally got its offense in gear in the sixth inning, as
Hannah Lieb tripled with one out, and then scored on a single by
Adalyn Steiner. Clemens singled to center to move Steiner to second, and DeKok had Lancaster Bible's fourth straight hit, and her single scored Steiner to make it 2-0.
Chloe King hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to score Clemens, and a wild pitch brought DeKok in to make it 4-0.
Sonja Nelson singled later in the inning to bring home
Kendra Brown, and the Chargers had a 5-0 lead.
