Nittany Lions Claw Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College baseball team dropped a pair of games to the North Eastern Athletic Conference's best team on Wednesday, as the Chargers were swept by Penn St. Harrisburg in Middletown, Pa. Lancaster Bible lost game one, 6-2, and the Nittany Lions hammered the Chargers, 24-2 in game two. The losses drop the Chargers to 7-11 overall and 7-11 in NEAC play, while the Nittany Lions improved to 21-5 overall and 15-1 in conference action.
 
Game 1

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible got on the board in the top of the first, as Brian Coburn led off the inning with the first of his three hits in game one, and scored on a Nittany Lion error later in the inning. The Chargers loaded the bases with two outs in the first inning as well, but couldn't capitalize.
 
Lancaster Bible doubled its lead in the third inning when Adam Naylor reached on an error and Jaden Pinkney, who singled earlier in the inning, came around to score. Penn St. Harrisburg got a run back in the bottom of the third, and took a 3-2 lead in the fourth on a Matt Isaac two-run home run.
 
Penn St. Harrisburg scored three more runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Bret Williams, followed by a Matt Parks RBI single later in the inning that made it 6-2.
 
Inside the Box Score: Coburn finished 3-for-4 with a run scored, while Pinkney was 2-for-4 with a run scored…Kaden Hunt was 1-for-2 with a walk, while Andrew Kidder was 1-for-3…Lancaster Bible starter Jacob Stong pitched five innings, and allowed five earned runs while striking out one.

How it Happened: The Chargers actually scored the first two runs of game two, as Jake Hahn doubled down the left-field line to score Blake Greenly and Pinkney in the top of the second. The Nittany Lions answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning, two more in the third, and five more in the fifth, before they blew the game open in the sixth with nine runs to make it 18-2.
 
Penn St. Harrisburg scored five more times in the seventh and another time in the eighth, as the home team scored in six of the eight innings it batted in.
 
Inside the Box Score: Lancaster Bible had just five hits in game two, as Pinkney was 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Coburn, Greenly, and Hahn had the other hits…Lancaster Bible pitching issued 11 walks, and Penn St. Harrisburg mashed 19 hits.
