How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible Field Hockey team dropped a nonconference matchup to Immaculata by a score of 5-0 on Saturday, September 18.
Immaculata (3-4 Overall) got off to a fast start, capitalizing on a penalty stroke opportunity to grab an early 1-0 lead. The Chargers' (1-4 Overall) defense would shake off the early goal and settle in, slowing the Mighty Macs' attack. LBC's best scoring opportunity came when Molly Gray fired a shot that was saved at the last moment by Immaculata's goalkeeper. At the quarter break, the Mighty Macs made some adjustments, and they would score two goals in the second quarter holding a 3-0 lead heading into the half.
The Chargers had more possession in the second half, creating a couple of scoring chances, but they could not find the back of the net. Immaculata would tack on a goal in the third and fourth quarters to secure the 5-0 win.
