How It Happened

The Lancaster Bible Field Hockey team dropped a hard-fought nonconference game to Eastern University by a score of 5-0 on Friday, September 24.

Eastern (2-6 Overall, 0-1 MAC) got off to a fast start, scoring three times in the first quarter to take an early lead. The Chargers (1-6 Overall) looked to rebound in the second quarter, controlling more of the possession. However, they could not create any scoring chances. The Eagles would tack on another goal to hold a 4-0 lead going into the half.

The Chargers came out with a more spirited attack in the second half. LBC put more consistent pressure on the Eagles defense and eventually Molly Gray fired the team's first shot of the game. The Chargers defense battled at the other end of the field and after allowing goal early in the quarter, the team slowed Eastern's attack. Alyssa Hamilton made two key defensive saves in the quarter, keeping the score 5-0 heading into the final frame. The Chargers battled the Eagles to standstill in the final quarter, eventually falling 5-0.
