How It HappenedÂ
The Lancaster Bible men's soccer team got the 2021 season off to a great start, scoring three first half goals to defeat Clarks Summit University by a score of 3-0 on Saturday, September 3.Â
It only took nine minutes for the Chargers offense to find its footing. With the Chargers offense pressuring Clarks Summit early, Kedric Yoder gathered in a lose ball just outside the 18-yard box. He then cut loose a highlight real shot that found the back of the net, putting LBC ahead 1-0. It did not take long for the Chargers to strike again. In the 11th minute after a corner kick, Kyle Hughes sent a ball into the box. The Defenders looked to have cleared the ball from the box, but Hughes regained possession, finding Owen Yoder for his first goal of his career goal. Clarks Summit's defense would settle in, turning away several scoring opportunities. The Chargers would tack on third goal in the 36th minute when Kedric Yoder found an open Matthew Eufemia for his first career goal. Â
The Chargers would take advantage of the early lead, getting 24 players learning valuable lessons. LBC created several quality scoring chances, even putting the ball in the back of the net once before the play was called back for a foul, but could not grow the lead. The Chargers would cruise to a 3-0 victory.Â
