How It HappenedÂ
The Lancaster Bible Men's Soccer team picked up their first road win of the season, defeating Albright 3-2 on Wednesday, September 8.Â
The Chargers got off to a fast start, putting pressure on the Lions early. In the fifth minute, Clark Shreiner fired a shot on goal that was deflected by the goalkeeper. Kedric Yoder raced to gather in the rebound and buried his shot in the back of the net giving LBC a 1-0 lead. Both teams battled to create scoring chances throughout the rest of the half, with the Chargers' best chance coming in the 44th minute. Owen Nell launched a shot heading for the upper left corner, but the Albright goalkeeper managed to tip the shot over the crossbar. LBC lead 1-0 heading into the half.Â
Lancaster Bible started fast again in the second half, immediately creating a scoring chance. In the 49th minute, Kedric Yoder found and open Jackson Shreiner in the box. Shreiner smashed the shot into the upper right hand corner, putting the Chargers up 2-0. Just a few minutes later, Matthew Eufemia got loose on a break away firing a shot across the face of the goal. Albright deflected the ball away, but Chad Tolson raced in to clean up the loose ball giving LBC a 3-0 lead. Albright would strike two minutes later, scoring to pull back within two goals. With under two minutes remaining, Albright drew a penalty kick, converting the opportunity to close with in one goal. LBC would hold on closing out the 3-2 victory.Â
Inside the NumbersÂ
- Kedric Yoder continued his strong start to the season, netting his second goal and dishing an assist
- Jackson Shreiner scored his first career goal
- Chad Tolson scored his first goal of the season, which proved to be the game-winning goal
- Albright was led by Alexander MacDonald and Joseph Loose who each scored a goal
- The Chargers held the advantage in shots 14-12, putting nine shots on goal

The Men's Soccer team will return home to face Immaculata University on Monday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m.
