How it Happened: The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team extended their winning streak to eight games, taking down the Defenders of Clarks Summit University 3-0 on Tuesday night.
After trading the first few points, the Chargers (12-8, 2-0 United East) jumped out to a big lead with eight straight points powered by a pair of kills from
Chloe King. Shortly after,
Bethany Pettis landed back-to-back service aces, then
Sheyenne King and
Morgan Fenstermacher each had kills to extend the LBC lead. The Chargers closed out the first set by a score of 25-9.
Fenstermacher began the second set with a huge kill to give the Chargers the early advantage, then
Madison Timberlake connected on a service ace. LBC would win the first nine points of the set, extending that lead further to 19-5 behind a slew of kills from Fenstermacher as well as back-to-back slams from
Riley Dodrer. A
Faith Helman ace and a
Faith Hammond kill would bring the set to a close with a 25-10 win.
As with the first two sets, LBC grabbed an early lead in set number 3, leading 9-4 early. Later in the set,
Brittany Martin hit a service ace to make the score 15-10. Clarks Summit (0-19, 0-3 CSAC) made a slight push, cutting the lead to just four points, but the Chargers responded with some solid serving by
Emma Shaeffer and a string of kills from
Sheyenne King to clinch the match with a 25-12 set victory and 3-0 sweep.

Information to Know: With their 3-0 win tonight over the Defenders, this marks the eighth straight time that Lancaster Bible has beaten Clarks Summit in their long matchup history. The Chargers have now secured the second longest win streak in program history marking eight wins in a row; the record was set back in 1996 at 12 wins.
