How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team saw their nine-game win streak come to an end against conference foe Gallaudet University 3-1. This was the Chargers' first lost in United East play this season.
Â
The Bison (15-11, 3-0 United East) took an early lead, but kills from
Morgan Fenstermacher and
Grace Farlow brought the Chargers (13-9, 2-1 United East) back within one. A service ace from
Chloe King punctuated a four-point run that put LBC in the lead. The two teams traded points throughout the middle portion of the set, then the Chargers strung together five straight points that helped them finish off the first set 25-23.
Â
The second set began in a similar fashion, with Gallaudet leading early and LBC cutting into that lead.
Sheyenne King fired back-to-back kills to keep the Chargers in it. Unfortunately, a string of LBC errors led to a big seven-point run for Gallaudet, shifting the momentum. The Bison pulled away, evening the match by winning set two 25-17.
Â
The next two sets were not the Chargers' best, with several players making key errors that allowed the Bison to swing forward.
Grace Farlow and
Chloe King had some good kills, but Gallaudet took set three 25-16. The fourth set saw Gallaudet go up early, but a four-point run from LBC featured a service ace from Farlow and kills from
Chloe King and Fenstermacher. The Bison went on some longer runs to help finish off the match 3-1 with a big 25-13 set win.

How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team dropped a thrilling five-set match with the Mustangs of SUNY Morrisville in the final match of the day. The Chargers move to 13-10 overall and 2-2 in United East competition.
Â
Set one started very close as LBC traded points with the Mustangs (16-7, 4-0 United East) early. Featured for the Chargers (13-10, 2-2 United East) were
Morgan Fenstermacher and
Chloe King with some good kills. Morrisville took off on a six-point run to pull ahead in the set, but the Chargers wouldn't go away. They eventually won the first set, 25-21. The second set started heavily in the Mustangs' favor until a
Riley Dodrer kill sparked a five-point run to keep it competitive. Later in the set,
Grace Farlow had back-to-back service aces and
Faith Hammond added an ace, but Morrisville closed out the set 25-23 to take a 2-0 match lead.
Â
There was a huge shift in momentum entering the third set for Lancaster Bible, starting off by taking a 4-2 lead. Then, the Chargers launched into a huge 13-1 scoring run to take full control of the set. During this run,
Leah Helman had a pair of service aces and
Chloe King had several big kills. They finished out the set in the same fashion with a dominant 25-8 win. The fourth set stayed close throughout, with neither team leading by more than four points the whole time. Farlow and both King sisters had some key slams to keep the match close in the middle, then a Farlow ace and a monstrous kill from
Chloe King capped off a 25-23 set win for the Chargers, forcing a fifth and deciding set.
Â
Morrisville started off with the lead in the fifth set, going up 4-2. Hammond found a hole in the defense for back-to-back service aces to propel the Chargers forward and keep Morrisville guessing. Some errors from both sides brought the score to a back-and-forth tie, sending it past 15 points for bonus volleyball. Despite the Chargers' best efforts in a fantastic comeback, the Mustangs closed out the set with three straight points and took the victory in a truly thrilling five-set contest.
