Women's Tennis Falls to Immaculata

Box Score The Lancaster Bible College Women's Tennis team hosted the Mighty Macs of Immaculata on Saturday afternoon at the Hempfield Rec Center in Lancaster.  The Chargers would come up on the short end of an 8-1 decision, ending their limited fall campaign with an 0-3 record.

In doubles play, after dropping the number two slot by a score of 1-8, the number three team of Sierra Hartman and Emma Teague would score an 8-4 victory, turning out to be the lone point of the day.  Sarah Steckbeck and Jania Weist would muster 4 games at the number one spot, however the Mighty Macs would take a 2-1 lead into singles play.

Each of the singles matches would feature competitive play, but Immaculata's lineup proved to be too much as they would sweep all six positions.  Freshman, Steckbeck would battle the Macs number one player Anna Degnan to a 4-6, 5-7 decision, while fellow frosh Teague would grab 6 games in the 3-6,3-6 loss at number six.

From the Coach: "Super proud of the work this young group of ladies invested in the fall campaign.  They continue to compete each and every point.  I truly believe their reps will pay great dividends heading into the spring." – Coach Rod Baughman

Up Next: The women's tennis team is done for the semester, but will host Mount Aloysius on March 3, 2023 as they open the spring campaign before heading to Hilton Head, South Carolina for 3 matches over spring break.
