Drew 5, Lancaster Bible 4
How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team lost to Drew University by a score of 5-4 on Saturday, March 26. The Chargers faced Drew University last spring in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. 
 
Singles
- 
Devon Clemmer dropped a tight battle in the #1 singles match, losing by a score of 7-5, 7-6.
- 
Micah Weaver could not find a stride in the #2 spot, losing in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.
- 
Malachi Bomgardner won several games, but fell to his Rangers opponent by a score of 6-1, 6-3.
- In the #4 singles match, 
Josh Jarvis grabbed a point for the Chargers, winning 6-3, 6-1 in straight sets.
- 
AJ Kwiatkowski easily won the first set 6-1, then battled to a 7-6 win in the second set to win his match.
- 
Devyn Kintzer won a highly contested match in the #6 spot, winning the second set to force a third set tiebreaker. Kintzer battled to the end, winning the tiebreak 10-8 to secure the third team point for LBC in the singles matches.
 
Doubles
- In the #1 doubles match, the duo of 
Devon Clemmer and 
Josh Jarvis dropped their match to their pair of Rangers by a score of 8-1.
- 
Micah Weaver and 
Malachi Bomgardner played a close match, losing 8-5 in their matchup.
- In the final doubles match, the pair of 
AJ Kwiatkowski and 
Devyn Kintzer won their doubles match by a score of 8-2 for the fourth LBC team point.
 
Coaching Points
"Our men competed well today," said head coach 
Rod Baughman. "Coach Veith does a great job with his Drew program! They are talented, disciplined and well-coached! This is the type of match you want in preparation for our conference schedule, and I believe we learned some things and got better today! I thought both AJ and Devyn did a great job overcoming some adversity and grinding out wins in their singles matches!"

The men's tennis team will host Lycoming College on Tuesday, March 29 at 3:30 p.m.
