How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team dominated Wilson College, powering to a 3-0 victory to open up the tri-match on Saturday, March 26.
The Chargers (15-8 Overall) set a dominate tone for the match, winning the first eight points of the match. The 8-0 run featured kills from
Kole Horst,
Dawson Forney and
Kevin Koch. LBC continue to grow the lead, using a 6-0 run to take a 13-point lead. The Phoenix (6-8) picked up a couple of points before the Chargers closed out the set on a 7-0 run.
LBC once again started strong in the second set, winning the first six points of the set. In control of the set, head coach
Jade Brubaker used his depth allowing some younger players to see some valuable playing time. Those players made the most of the opportunity, going on 7-1 run to close out the second set. The Chargers continued rolling in third set, opening on a 7-0 run.
Vladimir Podgorodniy and
Samuel Naugle each went on a long service run, helping LBC pull away and win the set 25-6.

How It Happened
Before game two, the Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball took a few moments to honor its three senior members of the team,
Caleb Roberts,
Kole Horst and
Konrad Martin.
The Chargers seized control of the first set, using back-to-back service aces from
Darien Colburn to take an 8-4 lead. LBC remained in control of the set, pulling ahead 20-15 after a block by
Caleb Roberts and
Kole Horst.
Hunter Davis and
Dawson Forney closed out the set by hammering a kill each.
LBC opened the second set by going on a 5-0 run, led by kills from Forney, Herb and Horst. Later in the set, the Chargers went on a 12-1 run, sprinting out to a 19-4 lead. The Chargers powered to a 25-11 victory in the set, with Forney hammering one last kill.
The third set was much more closely contested, with a kill by Roberts tying the set at eight. The Eagles battled back, surging ahead by four-points midway through the set. Forney and Horst fired back-to-back kills to pull LBC back within two points. The Chargers retook the lead by going on a 4-0 run, capped off by a block by Davis and Horst. The Chargers won four of the last five points, with Herb closing out the match with one final kill.
