How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team won their conference opener, taking down Penn St. Abington by a score of 8-1 on Tuesday, April 12.

Singles
- Devon Clemmer took the win in the #1 singles match, claiming a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
- Micah Weaver could not find his groove, dropping his match 6-2, 6-2.
- Malachi Bomgardner played the closest match of the day. After taking the first set 6-4, the second set went to a tie break where he fell 9-7 to drop the second set 7-6. During the third set tiebreaker, Bomgardner took down his Lions opponent 10-6 to secure a hard-earned team point.
- In the #4 singles match, Josh Jarvis earned a solid victory, winning 6-1, 6-3.
- AJ Kwiatkowski gave up just three games in the #5 spot, grabbing another point for the Chargers with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
- Devyn Kintzer rolled to a straight set victory, winning both sets by a score of 6-1.

Doubles
- In the #1 doubles match, the pair of Devon Clemmer and Josh Jarvis battled to the end, winning the set 8-6.
- Micah Weaver and Malachi Bomgardner picked up an 8-5 victory over their pair of Lions.
- In the final doubles match, the pair of AJ Kwiatkowski and Devyn Kintzer cruised to a 8-1 win.

Coaching Points
"Our men got off to a great start in doubles tonight, and that became the catalyst to the win!" said head coach Rod Baughman. "Abington has some really good hitters at the top of their lineup. It was great to see Devon get the singles win at the one spot!"

The men's tennis team will make the trip to Penn St. Harrisburg to take on the Lions on Thursday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m.
