How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College Field Hockey team played a closely contested first half, but ultimately fell short against Goucher College 4-1 on Tuesday evening.

Lancaster Bible (0-4, 0-0 CSAC) played very well on defense during the 1^st quarter of play, making some key defensive stops to keep the game scoreless after the opening period. The Gophers (1-2, 0-0 Landmark) got on the board about four minutes into the 2^nd period and added another just a few minutes later to extend the lead. Later in the quarter, Molly Gray led a drive up the field and fired a shot near the goal, drawing a foul for a penalty shot. Haley Stahl stepped up to take the shot and found the back of the goal, bringing LBC within one. The defense held up for the remaining three minutes, sending the game to halftime with Goucher up 2-1.
The Gophers added to their lead in the 3^rd quarter, then scored early in the 4^th to extend the lead to 4-1. The Chargers drew several penalty corners towards the end of the game, but were unable to cash in on the opportunities, dropping the contest.

By the Numbers
- Sophomore Haley Stahl put two shots on goal and scored her first goal of the season
- Molly Gray and Alexis Gilbert each fired a shot

- Goucher held the advantage in shots (13-4) as well as penalty corners (7-3)

Information to Know
This was the first ever meeting between the field hockey programs of Lancaster Bible and Goucher. The teams were supposed to meet during the 2021 season, but the game was pushed back twice due to COVID-19 issues.
