Box Score Lancaster Bible's Men's Soccer team suffered a nail-biting 2-1 loss to Penn St. Harrisburg in a conference road game. The Chargers drop to an overall record of 6-8-2, holding a 3-2 record in the United East. On the contrary, the Lions slide up to a 6-4-6 record on the year and 2-0-2 in the conference.
How It Happened: The game started off very defensive-minded, with neither side getting a shot off in the first ten minutes. However, following two corner kicks and a heavy dose of pressure from the Chargers,
Ben Nolt had a shot reach the net, but it was saved by the Lions' goalkeeper. The Lancaster Bible defense continued to hold strong in the first half, not allowing a single shot from Penn St. Harrisburg. Despite outshooting the Lions 4-0, the Chargers entered halftime tied at zero.
The Lions hit the ground running in the second half, quickly getting their first shot of the game, and Penn St. Harrisburg continued by scoring the first goal of the game in the 57
th minute on their first shot on target. Both sides continued to trade shots in the heat of the second half, but Harrisburg pulled out another goal in the 80
th minute to go up by two. The Chargers tried to crawl back from the deficit, and
Sam Glock was able to get the team's first goal of the match to make it a one-goal game. Unfortunately, the late comeback effort was all for naught as the Chargers ended up losing 2-1.
